Title: Apostrophe (') Artiste: Frank Zappa Genre: Frank Zappa (!) Familiarity: You know what I've listened to by now guys... Track 1(Love) A good straight rock song; thought I was listening to CCR for a moment there! Good stuff. Track 2(Love) Didn't realise we had moved on to track 2. Nice blues feel to this with some pretty tough gee-tar. Lyric is of course zany and ridiculous as ever. Track 3(Love) Kind of even weirder. Sort of Spanish/Mexican feel. Hmm. Bit of gospel in there too? Even a Yes-style keyboard solo! Track 4(Love) Very fast and frenetic. Everything so far has run one into the other; bit hard to keep up. This is the first one to actually finish and not segue into the next track. Track 5(Love) Blues meets gospel, good spoken vocal. Great guitar solo. Track 6(Love) This is like something off a seventies hard rock album. Again, a really slick guitar solo. Track 7(Love) My favourite so far (with only one to go) Track 8(Love) Good old blues tune End result: It's okay but I don't see what all the fuss is about. Guess I'm just never going to be a Zappa fan. So, Love or Hate? I say Love, but I don't love it. I just have to say that as I certainly don't Hate it. But it didn't really impress me much. I'm going to have to impose another temporary embargo again guys. I need time to update and get through the current list, so no more suggestions until I let you know, ok? Thanks.

Title: A call to arms Artiste: Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution Genre: Folk/ska Familiarity: Zero Track 1(Love) Good ethnic feel with some elements of classical; an instrumental Track 2(Love) Kind of a continuation of the first track. Like the violins. The vocals, when they come in, are fun and kind of Mexican sounding (Cuban?) Certainly a lot of energy in this. Track 3(Love) Another uptempo track; good fun Track 4(Love) Nice to hear things slowing --- oh, no, they're not. Well it's still a good track. Like the acoustic guitar. Track 5(Love) Yeah it's okay but a little too similar. I know there are only five tracks here, but still, a bit of variety would have been nice. End result: Not bad. Hard to judge on such a short EP, but decent enough. So, Love or Hate? Don't hate it, so it has to be a Love. Chances of a full review: 0/10
