Here's another one of the atmospheric black metal albums I had rec'd from the second batch, this'll probably be the final one of those which I rec here because I've begun to want to start rec'ing stuff of different varieties.
Schattenvald - III -- Schattenvald - III - Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives Spoiler for All six songs from the album:

Sure, why not?
And now, on with the show.... Title: cLOUDDEAD Artiste: cLOUDDEAD Genre: Hip-hop Familiarity: Zero Recommended by: Machine Expectations: Oh god no! Hip-hop! Expect sadness. And I see Zappa and Beefheart also mentioned. My cup runneth over... 1. Apt A (1): Well there's a nice opening spacey synth line, which is good, the rap when it comes in is not half bad, with a kind of Arabic tone in the riff. Not bad at all now really. 2. Apt A (2): And this is okay too. 3. And all you can do is laugh (1): Lovely piano line in this, but then it gets a little fragmenty. I like the ending. 4. And all you can do is laugh (2): The main melody here is really nice, the rap is also pretty good. Quite a relaxed tune so far anyway. 5. I promise never to get paint on my glasses again (1): The slow, almost doomy pace of this is good, and the sound (whatever it is) like a bee is interesting. Nice. 6. I promise never to get paint on my glasses again (2): Waitsesque percussion with a fast rap. Using the word “underground” might, but probably doesn't, namecheck Tom. 7. Jimmybreeze (1): The breezy synth here is really nice. Not so much a rap as someone just talking, again kind of a little like Waits does sometimes. Then the rap starts and again it's a slowish one which I must admit I do like. I hear them use the lyric from “I love rock and roll” here. 8. Jimmybreeze (2): Great bass on this. Everyone saying hello. Beatboxing? Great bit of pizzicato strings; kind of sounds like a cartoon. 9. (Clouddead Number 5) (1): Okay, this is not on Spotify and the YouTube is timed two different ways, neither of which make sense. I'm just gonna Green the rest because I've enjoyed it so far, but I'm just confused now as to what track is what. 10. (Clouddead Number 5) (2): 11. Bike (1): 12. Bike (2): End result: Notwithstanding the weird split of the tracks and the fact I had to rely on a YouTube this was a lot better than I expected. Very innovative, not at all annoying and a decent listening experience. So, Love or Hate? I don't mind giving this one a straight Love.
