I am that friend lol.

Most of my friends just like the typical stuff you hear on the radio and the typical songs that chart high and get popular everywhere. They don't even share my musical interest to be honest.

I don't understand how can they like that kind of music, as I consider them uninteresting and generic. I like mainstream music of course, (I'm not trying to come of as the hipster) but can you understand me when I say that a lot of the music that charts well / gets much airplay is rather dissappointing?

my friends would say I'm that person, and maybe I am. My friends listen to mostly Avenged Sevenfold and Black Veil Brides. They pretty much listen to the only kind of music I can't stand, and they think I hate everything because of it.

I can be that friend as like others have said hardly any of my mates are music guys but my mate is worse than I am. He's pretty funny with it, in his world everything is shit and everyone is a cunt.

The only bands and musicians I know he likes are Radiohead and Paul Gilbert (he's a guitarist) and I've known him for 10 years.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I am somewhat picky, but I stray away from bitching about something my friend puts on that I don't like. I will, however, try my damnedest to take over as DJ. That being said, the friends that I hang out with most are all into music, and they like when I show them new stuff.

No, I'm pretty easy going when it comes to music so I'm not that friend but none of my other friends are music snobs so they aren't too picky about music.

I'm picky but not insanely so. I usually don't say snarky things about musicians and bands I don't like. As a general rule I don't write reviews of music I dislike because it seems like a pointless exercise when there's so many good musicians and bands to review and write about. From my perspective, writing about bad music is a colossal waste of time.

My friends and I are all pretty open about music and share a lot of artists amongst each other.
