ironically i just bought tickets to go see Wicked with my mum on mothers day
my top five 5. Hello Dolly 1969 15 19 Barbra Streisand - YouTube one of my absolute fondest memories of my teen age years was being in a production of Hello Dolly....i was Rudolph the waiter and it was my first roll in what became four years of musicals.....this part was an absolute blast 4. grease - summer nights - YouTube again i spent the entire summer of 1992 doing a production of Grease....i landed the role of Kenickie on sheer attitude during my audition 3. Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) (2HQ) Heaven On Their Minds (((Stereo))) {HQ} (Repost) - YouTube oh memories i sang this when i auditioned for the Sound of Music....needless to say i go a non singing role and played Franz the nazi butler!.....still such an awesome song 2. Little Shop of Horrors - Dentist Song - YouTube i begged my drama teacher to do Little Shop Of Horrors my senior year just so i could land this part and sing this song.....she told me she would never do this....two years later she did.....i went every night 1. 'The Hills are Alive' - The Sound of Music - YouTube actually i would vote for every song in The Sound Of Music.....seriously this film is perfect....i watch at least once a year and as i stated above was in a production .....but this song honestly sums up my attitude towards music in general....and Julie Andrews....i mean what an incredible voice |

Oh wow, this is totally my thing. I've been guitar and bass guitar in the pit band for my school's musical theatre group, and also in community theatre groups so I've played a lot of these songs. Here's some of my favourites from recent shows that I've been a part of:
Nicest Kids in Town - Hairspray You Can't Stop the Beat - Hairspray Whatever Lola Wants - Damn Yankees Seasons of Love - RENT We Go Together - Grease There's No Business Like Show Business Life is a Cabaret - Cabaret Roxie - Chicago |

Does Rocky Horror Picture Show count? If so, then

I love, love, love showtunes! I suppose my top five with suffice for now (I'll post my version of the classics), but I'll likely post more videos as I remember all of my favorites.
When I think "classy" I think Fred Astaire. And this bit will forever epitomize for me his everlasting awesomeness. This song sticks with you for days, Ann-Margret is one of the sexiest women I have ever seen. She convinces me that women are people. Honestly I could post everything from Annie but I went with this one purely because of Tim Curry. As one youtuber so aptly put it: "Only Tim Curry can sexually open an envelope." Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god oh god. I love this production so much, this song makes my bones dance. OBVIOUSLY I'm going to post Barbra Streisand. This song is what I think of when I think of showtunes. EDIT: Yes, RHPS absolutely counts.
