We could use a couple more nominations for 1990 folks!

This is an interesting album. I think I picked up the extended special edition, and I kind of wish I hadn't, because the introductions to each song break up the flow so much. I found the regular tracklisting and sorted it out, and it was much better. At times I was reminded of a slower-paced, less-angry Cardiacs. A little bit like Thinking Plague as well, actually.

This has a lot of moments of awkward beauty, but suffers from just as much novelty. I'm not certain this was the best Residents introduction album, but I'm going to hold out.

Not much of a review unfortunately, but someone needed to go first, and I felt like listening to this even if I didn't feel completely up to analyzing it!

like any Residents, this one takes some time to "sink in"

but it's far more accessible than the other Residents I have

will pour out my thoughts once it has "sunk in"

I listened to the first few songs and turned it off. It was too much of a skit for my mood.

I will give it another shot soon (I love Not Available and Third Reich).

I actually really enjoyed Freak Show.

It's a super campy and melodic pop album.

It's an excellent addition to my Residents' collection.
