Isn't a classic album supposed to be consistently good? Too many tracks on this sound completely throwaway (literally). Mexican Caravan and Cowboy Bob aren't bad. Lou Reed can make an impression I suppose. Too much of this music otherwise I suspect is riding on the back of people thinking it is cool as it is 'alternative' and they have a name that would have stuck out at the time and alienated some people.
