Default Bi-Monthly Comp : Musicbanter October 2009 ... Goes Medieval On Your Ass!

(Click here for a list with links to the other themed comps)

Tracklist
  1. Mr. Sirius - Step Into Easter
  2. Korpiklaani - Pine Woods
  3. Simon & Garfunkel - Scarborough Fair, Canticle
  4. Clannad - Together We
  5. Scott Williams - Greensleeves
  6. The Pogues - Planxty Noel Hill
  7. Magna Carta - Lord of the Ages
  8. Ripaille - Epilogue
  9. Return to Forever - Medieval Overture
  10. A. A. Bondy - Oh the Vampyre
  11. Absu - Night Fire Canonization
  12. R.E.M. - Swan Swan H

Hey guys, this is it! The medieval comp is up and ready. Although it hasn't got quite as many tracks as last month's cyberpunk comp, most of the songs in this one have a much more old school sound. There are many beautiful and folky tracks on this one. Listen to it while tending to your pigs or put it on your ipod the next time you attend a public witch burning. I dunno what else to say except get it!

Here's the list of contributors. I'll add tracks to the names as you guess them!
  • Alfred ~ Absu - Night Fire Canonization
  • Anteater ~ Mr. Sirius - Step Into Easter
  • Antonio ~ Return to Forever - Medieval Overture
  • Bulldog ~ The Pogues - Planxty Noel Hill
  • Jackhammer ~ Clannad - Together We
  • Molecules ~ Magna Carta - Lord of the Ages
  • Muzak ~ Korpiklaani - Pine Woods
  • Rickenbacker ~ R.E.M. - Swan Swan H
  • sidewinder ~ Ripaille - Epilogue
  • Stone Birds ~ A. A. Bondy - Oh the Vampyre
  • Toretorden ~ Simon & Garfunkel - Scarborough Fair, Canticle & Scott Williams - Greensleeves

I got a couple on this one as well (sorry), now let's see your guesses!

The overture, I feel like im on a gameshow, then in a video game...so far I have liked/loved most of the tracks, thus excluding absu.

I have similar feelings. I quite like basically all of the tracks except a couple which I didn't think fitted the comp as well as the others. Particularly the 6 first tracks were great I thought and of course I love Return to Forever

The comp is a bit smaller than usual, but it's not a big problem for me personally. It makes it a bit easier to take in and digest as a whole although now with the theme voting, I'm guessing participation will be much higher with the next theme (horror).

The tracks I like I thought were really good so several highlights here for me!

1- Anteater (great track although a little TOO long maybe)
2 & 9-Toretorden
5-Stonebirds
6-Bulldog

I loved that Magna Carta track apart from the storytelling

Downloding right now. Seems like a great track list. Magna Carta, S&G, all great stuff.
I never know when to submit the songs for these though.

I don't consider 8 minutes that excessive for a comp. like this, but I probably could have picked a more compact choice I suppose.

Either way, glad you enjoyed it!
