I've got most of both of those but it might be wise to reacquaint myself with them. Thanks a bundle, Bulldog.

Kudos for including this. Storming track. I have virtually all the tracks on these comps unfortunately.

Yeah, Drinking In Gomorrah's a great track. Take the Tram from the same album very nearly got the nod in its place, which is another absolute favourite of mine.

If there are any tracks on the mixes that look particularly eye-catching, just give me a shout and I won't mind dishing out a link or two.

Nice one squire. Enjoy

Re this...

^ Great comp you made there Mr. Jackhammer sir! Some terrific stuff with a powerful, punky and better yet meaningful edge - I can definitely see the similarities with Midnight Oil. More people need to hear this.

Thanks heaps for the additional links you sent my way too.

The beginner's guide to...

Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band

1. Sure 'Nuff 'N Yes I Do - Safe as Milk
2. Moonlight on Vermont - Trout Mask Replica
3. Owed T'Alex - Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)
4. Dirty Blue Gene - Doc at the Radar Station
5. Ah Feel Like Ahcid - Strictly Personal
6. I Love You, You Big Dummy - Lick My Decals Off, Baby
7. The Host, The Ghost, The Most Holy-O - Ice Cream for Crow
8. Electricity - Safe as Milk
9. Gimme Dat Harp Boy - The Mirror Man Sessions
10. The Floppy Boot Stomp - Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)
11. One Red Rose That I Mean - Lick My Decals Off, Baby
12. Veteran's Day Poppy - Trout Mask Replica

I omitted most everything from the middle of his career, while it's not completely awful it certainly doesn't encapsulate the man's true essence. Had I the opportunity I would have included the entirety of his first four albums, they're all really spectacular.

Beginner's Guide to Sun City Girls

Alright now, this might turn into a beginner's guide trilogy, sheesh. I've put together a comp of my favorite Sun City Girls tunes and I'm pretty sure there is enough schtuff for the unkowning "normal" people to enjoy. Well, I threw in a few "joke" tracks because to be fairly honest, it wouldn't be SCG without the weird humor.

Eye Mohini
Horse cock Phepner
X+Y= Fuck You
Ghost Ghat Trespass/Sussmeier
The Shining Path
The Geography of the Swastika
Kickin' The Dragon
The Vinegar Stroke
My Painted Tomb
Eyeball In a Quart Jar of Snot
Helwa Shak

ps.If you want to be a pussy skip through the "joke" tracks...
pss. approach with an open mind...
piss. If this isn't "Beginner's" enough then I'll up another version of the comp...

Link, link, linky, link

Wow that was quick Sam! I have Beefhearts first 3 but still a couple of tunes I don't know. Solid stuff.

LLSS- I had a Sun City Girls album a couple of years back and couldn't get into it but it's time for a fresh evaluation. Both on the D/L.
