Thanks a lot for the kind words, I'll most likely be checking out pinback and the international noise conspiracy.

Great comps in here lately, Descendents and Pinback, two of my favorite bands.

But I can't believe you left "Loro" off the Pinback comp! I don't pay attention to track names all that often so I'm not too sure about the others, though I do see several of my favorites, particularly from Autumn of the Seraphs.
loro is ok. it isnt one of my favorites.

LOVE:
Shape I'm In - This was one song I actually wasn't familiar with, but I think I loved it the most. It wasn't immediate, but as the song goes on it just gets better and better.
Up on Cripple Creek and The Weight - I already knew these songs, and found myself singing way too loud along with them in my awesomely wonderful singing voice. Nevermind those dogs howling outside my window.
Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - Bluesy-country-goodness.

DID NOT LOVE:
This Wheels On Fire - Didn't care for the vocals, the instrumentals...just the over all flow didn't work for me I guess.

Good job on the comp! I'll be listening to this for a while I'm sure (except for that one song. )

I like Refused but this did nothing for me unfortunately. If it's Garage rock then it was nowhere near dirty enough for me.

Oh, it's squeaky clean. Perhaps Pool-House Rock is a better term?

Not that many will bother but I have compilations brewing for both Slayer and New Model army if anyone fancies a listen.

It's been years since I last listened to a Slayer song, and I almost went to a New Model Army gig in Dundee once so, yeah, I'll be up for them

As for me, updated Leonard Cohen and Pogues comps are in the works, so I'll be posting those here fairly soonish myself.

^Awesome man. I tried to download the old ones a while ago but the links are dead.

Also I'd be down for Slayer and New Model Army as well.

Well I think that New Model army are the UK'S answer to midnight Oil myself and Slayer are always worth a blast methinks. Up's in a couple of days.

I have two, slightly heftier mixes than I'd first planned, but nonetheless, if you want a glimpse at more obsessively-fanboyish side of my musical brain, go for 'em Click the picture to download...

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
A Beginner's Guide To the Pogues

1. Summer In Siam Hell's Ditch
2. Transmetropolitan Red Roses For Me
3. The Broad Majestic Shannon If I Should Fall From Grace With God
4. Sayonara Hell's Ditch
5. Billy's Bones Rum, Sodomy and the Lash
6. Sea Shanty Red Roses For Me
7. Lullaby Of London If I Should Fall From Grace With God
8. Living In a World Without Her Pogues Mahone
9. Blue Heaven Peace and Love
10. Sitting On Top Of the World Waiting For Herb
11. Jesse James Rum, Sodomy and the Lash
12. How Come Pogue Mahone
13. Tuesday Morning Waiting For Herb
14. London, You're a Lady Peace and Love
15. Rainy Night In Soho
16. Maidrin Rua (full version)
17. Haunted
18. The Star Of the County Down (live)
19. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
20. The Leaving Of Liverpool

^ So then, tracks 1-7 & 14 have Shane MacGowan's lead vocal, tracks 8-13 don't. Tracks 15-20 all originated from places that weren't full-length Pogues albums. Believe me, this mix will work a gazillion times better if you re-arrange the tracks in the above order as well.

Also (I'll do this with the Leonard Cohen mix in a bit), five tracks have been hotlinked to their respective youtube clips so that, if you're two minds about what you'll be getting yourself into, you can have a quick listen for yourself.

Anyway, I'll just post the other mix...
