Would anyone be interested in a Minor Threat guide? I know you can get their discography in total but I know whenever I'm trying to get into a new band I don't like having 30 songs thrown at me.

i don't mind listening to that many songs for a first pass, but then again, this is from a guy who used to download full discographies from bands, hehe.

Intro To 21st Century South Africa

This is a mix of songs that I have made that show some of the various musical scenes we have in SA ranging all over the country and into various genres. There are a mix of some major bands/artists and some more lesser known bands just to keep everything interesting.

If you do care to download and listen, please do leave your comments about the music if you wish. It would be nice to hear some opinions from non-South Africans. I will try to include the year and genre that they belong to but some I know are not accurate already, so just use them as a guideline.

I just played the discog the other day. Sure there are 26 songs, but the whole thing's only 47 minutes. Probably shorter than most Beginner's Guides.

Seems like only bands I could help people with have such little discographies and now i'm just digging. I'll get around to a Nirvana comp one of these days, weather people want it or not.

Talking Heads

Easily the one of the greatest New Wave/Post Punk bands ever, Talking Heads revolutionized music as a whole, bringing African beats and unconventional instruments and production methods into the public spectrum. Their music is stylistically varied from album to album, and the various live albums that they release showcase the immense talent of the band onstage. My Favorite Comp I have mad so far.

"Punk Rock is a sub-genre of Western Popular Music. Its harmonic roots lie in the bastardized Chicago Blues favored by groups like the Rolling Stones. From the very beginning, Punk thought of itself as a reaction to the commercialization of youth culture.
