Hendrix??? No way...
okay, i know a lot of you havent heard of Malmsteen, but he does rank as the best, I dont rank Hendrix as the best soloist, nowhere near. Neither do i put clapton up there... I go for melody mainly, not speed, but malmsteen has both, hendrix has neither... it's incoherent and messy most of the time, although, i will admit - some of the stuff is excellent... Paige has perfect melodies. Van halen has the speed...
1. Yngwie Malmsteen 2. Jimmy Paige 3. Eddie Van Halen

wow, its been a while since anyone has posted in this thread, but what the hey. I've change my opinion since my last post, and id have to say Teppei Teranishi from Thrice. i think it was Jibber who hit the nail on the head with one of her first posts on this thread. That the main aspect of teppei or thrice for that matter, is that everything flows perfectly. And i own every song theyve producd and i am yet to find ONE not so good riff, or any part of guitar. the man is simply amazing, along with Thrice.
Also so Rob from Strung Out is a rad guitarist too.
