Motion City Soundtrack- Commit this the Memory
I got it recently I keep on going back too it. So I decided to give a personal review of the album, generally the specific tracks.
Track Listing: 1. Attractive Today 2. Everything Is Alright 3. When You're Around 4. Resolution 5. Feel Like Rain 6. Make Out Kids 7. Time Turned Fragile 8. L.G. Fuad 9. Better Open The Door 10. Together We'll Ring In The New Year 11. Hangman 12. Hold Me Down 1. Attractive Today I would say it is an intro song though it has a lot of substance to it. Its pretty fast pace and it provides with so pretty nice lyrics. They keyboarding is really good too. It drives pretty well and sets up the album really well. 2. Everything Is Alright Their first single and a great song at that. It gets pretty syncopated and does stop and go in rhythm that works really well. The lyrics are meh-ish. The verses are OK but the chorus is lacking a bit. Overall the lyrics work. The keyboard line is wonderful, sounds like something from church organ line, sounds very cool. 3. When You're Around My personal favorite song on the album. Medium paced but the drumming is really sweet. They lyrics are something from a high school soap opera but I find it works fine in how the song goes. Keyboarding is superb, the slurring is great. 4. Resolution Generally a vocal type song; something that occurs a bit in the album. Not much keyboarding from what I can hear. The guitar is semi-good. It has good lyrics but nothing amazing. 5. Feel Like Rain A boppy song, the lyrics are pretty sweet, one of the better ones. The vocals slide in this real nice and is kinda of the "rainy day" type of song. 6. Make Out Kids Lyrics are meh. The keyboarding is what makes this song. Nothing much about it other than that. 7. Time Turned Fragile Wonderfull song. They keyboarding is heavy in this one and is applyed nicely. Medium pace guitaring and what makes this song great is the lyrics. Very well done and at the end, there is a long simmer down-like thing in which it ends with echos of the keyboard. Its amazing. 8. L.G. Fuad One of the few songs I don't like in this album. Few instrumenting in this song. Its based off the lyrics. The problem is that they are very lame. Its an obvious attempt at the "Emo" which doesn't do well. 9. Better Open The Door Average song. Pretty faced paced, a good driving rock song. Lyrics rimind of of Green Day somehow. Overall a listenable song but not one I would remember. 10. Together We'll Ring In The New Year Another less instrumental song. They lyrics are great, it is what makes up the song and a nicly done. Its pretty short but a great song anyways. 11. Hangman I love this song a lot. Fast pace song and the Keyboarding sounds sweet in it. It mixes along with the distortion of the guitar. Sounds great when they repeat "Commit this to Memory" 12. Hold Me Down A very well done ending song to the album. Very melodic and lyrics are above average. What sounds better is that they use live piano. They ending is great where they simply have distortion buzz going that fades away along side a music box melody. Overall I give this 8.7/10 I hope that this was helpfull |

I like this album quite a bit, but the singers voice seems monotonous at times.
