SONG: Fire Woman
ARTIST: The Cult
ALBUM: Sonic Temple

If aliens came down from space asked me what rock music was, I would play them this song.
In my mind, it is the definition of rock.

Its so easy to like Fire Woman. Theres nothing complicated about it. You won't have to skip over any bland 10 minute intros, decipher any philosophical lyrics, hear any flute or triangle solos, or listen to it 10 times before it grows on you. It cuts through all that bullshit gets straight down to business. It gives me exactly what I want out of a rock song. Enormous build-ups of energy, explosive electric guitar solos, drums being bashed to death, and ferocious lyrics being screamed out from one of the sexiest frontmen in the history of rock music. What more could a person ask for. I feel so satisfied after I listen to this song.

Not only are they good musicians, but they are superb performers. Just look at them in the video. Of course they make great rock music. They get it.
